What do you feel your role in their lives would be? Do you feel there would be no role at all and they are not your responsibility? If so, why date or end up in a relationship with someone who has children to begin with?

my b/f's daughter was here for a year and basically treated her like my own, although when your dating there are just some things that you dont step your boundary because you two are not married and they are not your kids...

u should treat the kids the same way u would ur own. my husband has a child and i try to treathim the way i treat my own. although he doesnt live with us whenever he do come over he gets the same treatment as our other children. no child want to feel left out especiallywhen the mom and dad arent together. what if ur parents divorced and u ended up with mom and she married again, wouldnt u want ur new stepdad to treat u equal? it may be hard at first but God can work out anything. if u love ur mate then u will love the kids.

I would treat them the same as I do my own daughter. Give some respect, you get respect. Give them boundaries and they will thank you later. Give them love and you will get love back. There IS no point in dating someone with kids if you aren't going to play a part in it. It takes communication between you and your partner.
