Yes, I think many working moms would love to stay at home with their kids. And, then many stay-at-home moms would love to work as a break from their children and also to do something they enjoy. It's a catch-22 at times. If you are looking to do some part-time work, I found this site to have some helpful work at home tips/articles. Enjoy the time with your child! http://workathome.divinfo.com/

I tried staying at home and nearly had a breakdown! I personally need to go out to work for my own sanity but good luck to those stay at home mums - they (most of them) do a good job.
ps you may be able to get help with childcare costs from tax credits.

I had to work when my first son was a baby and I had no choice.I hated it.Latter in life I was able to stay at home and it was heaven.I went back to work when the youngest was about eleven.I always wish I had been able to be at home with my first child as I missed so much. You are doing the most important job in the world bringing up children.I hope you enjoy it.

I certainly enjoy my income, but would like more flexibility, time wise. I live in Houston and it sometimes takes me 2 hours for a 24-mile commute, which is very frustrating. I do not think I could stay at home, but would love to work from home!!

I have done both and yes I worked full time after having my first and hated every minute of it feeling guilty for leaving her. I started selling Mary Kay and was able to quit my job and be home after having my second child in Nov 05. I love that I have adult interaction, make money and can be home with my girls. It is so hard for women we wear so many hats and are made to feel guilty whatever we decide. I am very fortunate to have the best of both worlds.

Hi, I also am a stay at home mom to 3!! Have you considered maybe running a dayhome? That will allow you to be with your own kids and make some money at the same time.
Trust me, your kids will grow so fast, this time spent with them is well worth it!

I work 6 days a week to earn enough to support myself and daughter, I am constantly tired, my house is a mess, Im a wreck and I feel so sorry for my daughter! My sister who has never worked, but lives off the state has a beautiful house, more money than me AND can do whatever she wants when she wants! she actually encouraged me to go on benefits she said "its wicked" "I love it" she has three children by all different fathers go`s out every weekend and enjoys her life much more than I enjoy mine!!!

im sure they do, untill they get a vacation and have to put up with the little heathen monster brats 24/7. Thats probably why many career women are putting off having kids till later if at all, i guess you just have to figure out your priorities, and of course your financial needs and situation.
