I have a 2005 Pontiac Vibe. In the past month, every so often when I start my car, is seems like the engine doesn't want to turn over. It always does, it just takes a few more seconds than normal. I have to hold the key in the start position for a longer time. I haven't had any other problems with the car since I bought it. My dad seems to think that it could be just a bad connection to the battery. If thats the case, isn't that an easy fix? I really don't want to have to leave my car at the dealership if I don't have to. What's your opinion? Thanks so much!

You don't have to leave it at the dealership. Run your car down to Auto Zone, they will hook up their test equipment (free) and let you know if your battery is holding a full charge. You can do a quick check yourself of the cables, make sure cables are tightly attached to the battery post, follow the cables to the engine block check for tightness. If their is any corrosion on top of terminals on the battery clean briskly with a wire brush.

The connections should be fine. The car is not that old. There could be relay problems or starter/battery problems. The car should be under warranty so bite the bullet and let the dealership fix it.

if it turns over good, then it cant be anthing about the battery.it sounds more like the gas filter is dirty, and you could, for good measure, have the fuel pump checked.but it sounds more like fuel, then anything else.
