If so what do you like about it, and if not why. I personally think it is the ugliest building I have ever seen and is the one thing that spoils Birminghams City Centre, and I am curious to what others think about it.

My Mother who does not live in Birmingham calls it the Silver Slug... does that fit..???

No its not the Bullring, that is the name of the shopping area and the Mall, the silver building is just Selfridges and was designed for them

It is a little bazaar, I dont tend to notice it though as the pull of the shopping in Selfridges drags me in too quick to see the outside! Its a shame they put something so modern next to the church, i reckon in 15 years time, the people who gave it the go ahead will be looking pretty stupid...

I think it's a fantastic building - a true reflection of the character of Selfrdiges. It has been a brave move by Birmingham City Council to approve a building that is so differenet to what was once there and so different from anything else. I applaud all those connected with it.

The Silver Slug is an apt description. The concept is fine, but it doesn't fit in with the rest of the Bullring.

Totally agree, it looks completely out of place with the rest of the Bullring. It looks like it was put on as an after thought!

Is it not called The Bullring? Selfridges is just a shop that's in there.

I think it is wonderful, a piece of art, stunning in the background, can only be Birningham when you see photos of it. I think it looks more like an alien spaceship that has landed but couldn't quite take off again 'cause shoppers bags are too heavy... Nevertheless, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder
