breastfeeding helps the uterus to go back to normal size . DO NOT DO CRUNCHES until you have had your 6 wk check up and get an okay from your doctor. Your abdominal muscles (the line in the middle) separate during pregnancy and may still be separated. Doing crunches too soon may give you a hernia and trust me you don't want that! If your doctor says it okay you can wear a girdle after a month or so (you should having stop bleeding by then). Make sure it's comfortable when you wear it. Eat right and drink plenty of water. You can do light exercises like walking. This would be a great time to show everyone your new baby! It takes some time and every woman is different though. I'm petite too (5'1) and it took me 6 months but like I said everyone's different. Always consult your doctor before starting an exercise regimen especially after having a baby. Wish you all the best and congratulations!!!!
P.S. If you had a c-section it will take longer. Please don't do anything until you have your 6 week check-up. That's when you can express all your concerns and ask questions.

That depends on the person. My best friend had a baby and a week later people didn't think she was the mother because she was so thin again. For the rest of us I'm sure exercising really helps in that area. Most people don't have trouble shedding the pounds afterward though. Good luck and congratulations mommy!

it's different for every lady, and ofcourse it also can be interpreted
as to how many pregnancies you are talking about.
Your stomach in general will never be the same because it
already has been stretched, but with excercise and proper diet
you should do very well and your muscle tone will return to
almost normal......
by the way dear, don't skimp on food, you need to eat good food,
lots of nutrients, and drink milk cause if you are breast feeding
you have to stay healthy, so take care of yourself and your new
baby.
by the way congrats on your new gift.

Personally, I only gained 16 lbs., all belly, and lost everything after having my baby. Not everyone is the same though. And even though I lost all the weight then, I've gained just as much back again from not eating right and not being on my feet all the time at the job I used to have! So I really have nothing to brag about... LOL!

It just depends on if you have the baby regular or a c-section, c-sections take longer to get back to your size. i am 5 foot and weigh 104lbs. I had to have a c-section with my daughter and it took me about 6 months to get back to my size. I am pregnant again and I have to have a c-section again, my bones are too small, I hope it doesnt take that long again. Good luck

As long as your body says it will. Nobody's going to be able to answer that question for you, use some common sense.
