Good question, I wouldnt know, personal;ly I am less likely to buy things that use such gimmicks. If they cant use the prodect itself as a means to show why I should buy it, I ignore it.

Ads are aimed at kids because they control their parents spending power, even more than wifes do. Kids are gullible and believe what hey see on screen because they don;t have much life experience. Negative effect is kids become focused on money and think it's easy to come by, I can't see a positive and turn TV off when ads are on.
