Not until your last child is happily married and out of the house.

With the three that I have already had, the fatigue that I felt since about 5-6 weeks went away shortly after the birth. I felt so much better after they were born and rested so much better at night, even if it WAS interrupted by feedings. Your body doesn't have to work extra hard to build that extra person anymore. The tiredness you feel after the birth should get increasingly more tolerable as the weeks go by. I was amazed at how, even while still in the hospital, I felt so much better- the stuffy nose was gone, the heartburn, uncomfortable ribs, etc. And I am a stomach-sleeper, so that was wonderful to sleep on my tummy again and feel truly comfortable. AHHHHhhh. Only 9 or 10 weeks till my fourth gets here and then maybe again I can sleeeeeeepp. Good luck! Oh, one more thing- those first couple of nights after the baby is born should be such good rest! I don't know about you, but I tend to slow down at the end and not do too much during the day. So actually working very hard and delivering that baby should make you niiiicce and tired and able to sleep good. LOL Can you tell I haven't slept good in months?!

My wife was not at all sleepy right after both of our daughters were born. Having a new baby will wake you up. She did, however, sleep like a... baby after both of our daughters first meals. After that, I don't remember her being as tired all the time. I think the fatigue is caused by the compression of your organs, especially your lungs which doesn't allow enough oxygen to get to your muscles. There are also hormones that are released during birth that may have something to do with it.

Since you will have a baby waking you up every few hours then you're probably not going to get much sleep for quite some time.
My babies never slept through the night until they were 6 weeks at the youngest and then it was only once in awhile that they'd give me a break and do it.

No it will take some time your going to be getting up with a newborn every few hours feeding and changing the baby so it will be a few months before your feeling back to normal. Try to nap when the baby does and ask someone for some help. It's hard to do but it will help you out lots. Good Luck and I wish you a speedy delivery

Consider that fatigue will be a good part of your life once the baby is born, and probably until they turn 18!
Seriously, its not as overwhelming, but you get use to it.

Well, labor is a very exhausting process. Give yourself time. Don't worry, you will get over that feeling eventually. You might want to ask your doctor if you could be anemic. It's very common in pregnancy and can cause extreme tiredness. Hang in there. It's almost over!

Never - kids take alot of energy out of you - you just have to learn how to get the most out of it and eat healthy.
