I posted a question on here last night about the same thing kinda, but i have another question. im 36 weeks but only measuring 32 weeks. im thinking all kinda of horrible thoughts , about iugr (interuterine growth restriction) and what not but maybe nothing is wrong ... has anyone ever measured small, up to 4 weeks or more, and end up having nothing wrong with the baby ? or if you did, what was wrong ? how do they diagnos iugr ?

My son Mason was born born with IUGR at 36 weeks. I was measuring 27 weeks at the time. He was born weighing 2lbs 7ozs. The thing with IUGR babies, depending on the cause of course is most do completly fine after they are born. The are considered "feeder growers" in the NICU if they even have to spend time in there. I had a level 2 U/S that showed the bloodflow in his cord had almost completly been cut off. You're only measing a couple weeks behind I wouldn't worry to much right now I'm sure your OB is keeping a very close eye on you. Relax and enjoy the last few weeks!

Well if you have had any ultrasounds during pregnancy they should have picked up on any growth restrictions, it is possible that your baby has dropped into the pelvis which would make you measure smaller. Due dates can be off by two weeks either way so it could very well be possible that you are 38 weeks along and going into labor. Have you called your doctor and talked to them about this, they should be able to tell you exactly what is going on. Hope this helps, best of luck

my step mother was measureing small andd there was nothing wrong but the doctors made it a point to do an ultrasound to make sure there was nothing wrong. why haven't they done this to you? if htey have then im sure they would let you know if there were something wrong. usually if they find that it is because of iugr then they will perform an emergency c section

i am measuring bigger. at 30 weeks, I was measuring 34. which was a big concern to the hospital because they said the baby could be getting too big, or there was too much fluid, and I would have to be induced. they did an ultrasound. everything was fine. the baby was a normal weight & fluids were perfect. everything is most likely fine. i don't even believe that measuring, every baby is different, and everybody's body is different. don't worry about it.

They told my mom that when she was pregnant with me. I turned out petite, but so are my mom and my grandmother. Other than having to wear high heels, I am completely fine.
Same thing happened to my cousin's wife, and her baby is totally fine.
