It's from Latin, it means "partially completed".

Normally refers to "pro forma statements", meaning kind of like a draft of financial statements before they've been checked over and finished.

It can also refer to earnings, like "pro forma earnings", would be what the company thinks they might make, but aren't sure until the quarter is over.

Its like an Invoice, a form that you get and you have to pay for the goods before they deliver. hope that helps
