They will win their division but eventually lose to the Yankees in the ALCS.

Although the Tigers will actually be more improved and experienced than last season, and also throw Sheffield into the mix, I still don't believe the Tigers will go all the way again this year. The Red Sox look dangerous this season, and you can never sleep on the Yankees. You also have teams like the White Sox, Twins, and Tribe who are hungry to win the Central this year. And out of the west, who knows what to expect. I take the Rangers out of that division though. I'm taking the field on this one.

I odnt think so, I dont even think they will win the Central. They got off to such a hot start last season that everyone had to play catchup, and faltered down the stretch. ( remember they didnt win the division, the Twins caught and passed them on the final day). they are a good team but they are in a division with the ChiSox, the Twinkies and the Tribe. You can win 90 games in that division and still miss the playoffs. The AL wasnt prepared for them last year, this year they are...I see them as being 85-90 wins but finishing out of the playoffs

My honest opinion is not this year. Mind you I cheer for them because I am cheering for Leyland to get another Title as manager. I'm a Pirates fan so short of a Miracle where they play for the World Series I cheer him on. Anyway I think last year they were under the radar and that helped them. I think this year more is expected of them and more pressure is put on them. They are a young team and I think their pitching problems in the World Series show during the regular season as well and people know their problems better. They were a little exposed and so yeah I think they have more problems this year and don't quite make it. Although if they help keep the White Sox out of the Playoffs I'll be happy.

They will not make the playoffs this year. They will finish 4th behind Chicago, Minnesota, and Cleveland. They had their opportunity last year, but fell apart in the World Series. History shows that in the modern era of baseball, teams that lose the World Series just don't make it back to the big dance the next year. Look at the list
1) 2000 Mets - Did not go in 2001
2) 2001 Yankees - Did not go in 2002
3) 2002 Giants - Did not go in 2003
4) 2003 Yankees - Did not go in 2004
5) 2004 Cardinals - Did not go in 2005
6) 2005 Astros - Did not go in 2006
Though you may believe that winning makes you stronger, it does not appear to be true. Actually, losing makes you weaker.
So using history as the benchmark - do not look for the Tigers to go to the World Series this year.

let's hope so. last November some folks at work were giving me (stuff) about the Tigers this and the Tigers that. Couldn't beat the Yankees, couldn't beat the Athletics. You wanna know how to avoid losing the World Series? Ya don't get there in the first place

Well, I think it's well established that the AL Central is going to be a fun division this year. At this point, I am not even sure detroit will win the division, but if they do sure why not, I mean they surprised us all last year.

No. They will sell their alloted tickets to the White Sox and Dodgers, because they will be too upset about not being in the playoffs this year again to go.

I don't know about that. They had their chance last year and blew it. They are in a very tough and competitive league. The American League is tougher to win then people care to realize.
