I have run out and I need some work clothes for tomorrow. My car is in for an MOT and it's miles to the nearest shop. The neighbours are out, my family are out, Barry Scott is out.

What can I use ?

Just wear lots of perfume and clothes that don't look to bad.

I would warn against milk. My little bro put a load of milk (and the kitten on another occasion) in the washing machine. The clothes stank when they came out. (We noticed the kitten was in there on the previous occasion before any harm came to her by the way...)

How about bath foam/washing up liquid/dishwasher tabs if you're really desperate?

Not sure for on the spot detergent.. Next time just buy an Oxy Clean Oxy ball.. Those things seem to last about 60 wash loads.

I know this sounds crazy...but it works...baking soda 1/2 cup for a large load and 1/2 cup of vinigar, no, your clothes will NOT smell like a salad!
The baking soda will help get the stains out and the vinigar will actually get the smell out...I use this combo for my cats blanket, as she has allergies to perfume!

I've used dish soap and even shampoo before. I never used the washing machine with these soaps tho - always washed my hand. You'll have to rinse really well, but your clothes will be clean. ♥

Use dishwashing liquide but only a tiny bit. Once I put in a whole cup and had like a flood of foam in my laundry room

You can use dishwash liquid, but use sparingly. This stuff goes a long way!!..

Also, if you have any degreaser, you might squirt a little in with it and you'd be surprised how clean your clothes come out.

Very small amount of dish soap or shampoo, a box of baking soda and if you have any pinesol add one forth of a cup. I really did this once and it worked.

Use automatic dishwasher soap...Just a little bit, and use it with warm water. Put it in first, let the machine agitate for a minute, then add your clothes. Otherwise if you don't have that...Dishsoap??

Dish washing detergent or shampoo. Or a little of both.

It sounds bizarre, but shampoo and conditioner work quite well, provided you don't use too much. Don't put in as much as you would with normal laundry liquid.
