Well it's not boring, college baseball is actually quite exciting. The reason they don't get any airtime on TV is because the ratings for the college world series stink so why put more games on and waste the opportunity to make more money. Even the CWS has switched networks in the past few years. It used to be on non-cable TV now I think it is only on ESPN and ESPN 2.

Its because of the system....baseball players take A LONG time to be ready for the majors...if they all came straight from college into the pro's, people might be more interested. But they have farm systems, A, AA, AAA, Junior college leagues, pacific coast leagues...there are just TOO MANY players that arent going anywhere in the sport for it to catch on. From a marketing position, how do you advertise for it? I mean they do a lot with the sound of the bat, and talking about who they are signing with, but even then you dont see the player in the majors for another couple years, and by then you have forgotten who they are. Andrew Miller, the biggest pitching prospect in years, was a first ruonder signed by the Tigers last year. He made like 6 appearances, none more than 1 1/3 innings or so. The kid has lightning for an arm, but it just takes time to groom them. How many of the players from the college world series do you hear about the next year playing in the pros? I mean do you even know where your favorite baseball players went to college? Think about that one....

Ratings is the biggest factor. Also something with College baseball that sets it apart from College Football and Basketball is how the draft works. Alot of people watch college sports with an intrest of seeing who the future stars are. In baseball its a longer process since they dont just go from draft day to starter like the other sports. They have to go to the minors and work there way up which could take years and years. Baseball is just a whole diffrent world....

Majors have a hard time drawing an audience so college definitely will. Not too many people watch baseball on tv as it is some college airtime would be a waste.

There was a video game made last year called MVP College Baseball 07. Because of the success of this game, I believe that you will start to see college ball on the networks...and it should be on there. It is not boring at all!!

It's all about money. College Hoops and Football bring in more money and can attract the ad revenue needed to be aired by the networks.

has to do with the annoying "PING!" sound of metal hitting the ball, I'm sure. kinda cool when little leaguers can hit the hell outta a ball using aluminum, not so endearing in college aged folks, though
