Or should I wait a day or two? New to the OPK thing and just wondering how early I should start testing.

To be most accurate, you should be using ovulation kits for several days. Most kits suggest that you use your shortest cycle of the last six months, and begin testing seventeen days before that. If your shortest cycle is 25 days, then you should begin testing on day 8. If your shortest cycle was 28 days, then begin testing on day 11. Day 1 is the first day of your period. Ovulation occurs ten to sixteen days before menstruation, and your LH surge, which is what the OPK looks for, happens 24 to 48 hours before you ovulate.

Start now and make sure you have several kits to continue testing until you get a positive result.
