most of them are real just go to youtube and watch videos of the artists or go to wikipedia and they will tell you wether it is real or not

some times it is, but they are also fake ones, then some times somebody manages it for them , so hardly no times the actual artist goes on there.
can you beieve ugly betty has a my space, she aint even real.

Not all of them are run by the bands themselves, but most will have an 'official' site which is run by their record company as a way of advertising singles, videos and tour dates.

depends how famous the band are as to whether it is them checking mesages. if the band is fairly famous, they will employ someone to keep the myspace updated.
however lilly allen runs her own myspace and keeps a regular blog on it.
