well he use to tell me all this stuff on the phone about not liking this girl. well then i started to like him. but on valentines day he asked her out. they hang with us so when she is not looking he mouths out he likes me. im so confused

stay away from him cos he is bad news. he is definately bad mouthing you to this chick. Stay away from them and start your own life with new friends and men who actually have respect for women

You should keep your distance from him if he is giving you mixed messages. It sounds like he wants the best of both worlds. "have his cake and eat it too"
If you had hobbies do that, if not start new ones. call up an old friend, visit an elderly family member. go to a volunteer website for your area and find volunteer opportunities ; local hospitals or nursing homes, or camps, or churches maybe even the red cross.

Now you do not know if he likes you as a girlfriend or just as a friend. Now if you are really interested, then you need to talk to him, and find out what he meant? And if you are not interested, then just tell him that you would prefer him to be your friend, that no one can take away a good friendship!
