and you were starving to death, would you agree to kill and eat one of the people to save the rest? How would you decide who to kill?

I definitely would.

Look It's a life boat in the middle of the ocean no net no nothing just wood.
You might get spotted in a few days by a passing ship but you'll never find out unless you eat something!

That's actually happened at least once in history. But it was more than four people. They drew straws to see who would get eaten. Read the book" In the heart of the sea" by Nathaniel Philbrick, arrrrrgh.

That is hard to imagine. You'd have to be incredibly desperate with absolutely no hope of rescue, finding land, etc. I'd probably try fishing first and try getting help and to the land.

In a situation like the one where the plane came down in the Andes and the surviving passengers ate the dead passengers, I'd say the dilemma is a bit easier - the people were already dead and there was little hope of rescue.

I'd have to say no though, I don't think I'd like to eat other people, especially after I'd had to kill them.

Kill someone - no. Eat someone already dead - maybe. I wouldn't know if I could unless I was in such a situation where I had to make such a horrendous decision.

well considering modern lifeboats havea gps system it would be very unlikely that you would be stranded for long as a general distress signal would be emitted and passing vessels must answer a distress call. its rules of the sea to answer and SOS. Also on these modern lifeboats you would have provisions of food and water which would be enough for all on board to survive. But if worst came to worst yeah i'd eat them

No, sorry I couldn't kill anyone but I'd dangle you over the side of the ship to catch us a fish or two to eat.

You're going to need more people. I mean, there's the starter, main course, dessert, and then somebody has to be the cheese board and after eights. And just who do you think is going serve all this? Really, the service here is terrible, I'll take my chances with the sharks, thank you very much......

I would say cut a leg off. dangle it over the side till a shark came round then kill the shark and eat that..or if no sharks..just keep eating legs...till you dont have a leg to stand on.

I'd agree with 2 of the others and not tell the fourth one.
