Congrats! I know this is an exciting, if not confusing time. I felt like any and everything i did might be potentially harmful to my baby. Try not to get stressed out. Yes, you need to see a doctor, but in the mean time, you could try buying a bottle of prenatal vitamins and taking a couple everyday. The sell them @ Wal-Mart and they are only about five bucks for about two months supply. Lots of water is good too. Exercise probably won't hurt as long as it's not too strenuous. You wanna try to be as healthy as possible, but it doesn't mean that you have to change your whole life or give up everything that you love. Good luck and try not to stress out.

Most people don't even know they are pregnant until this time or later. Most ob's don't schedule visits until the third month. All you really need to do right now is eat frequent small meals, drink 8 glasses of water a day, and avoid alcohol and tobacco. If you have morning sickness try saltine crackers and ginger ale before you get out of bed. You really don't have to restrict your activities...just go about your day as you normally would. You may consider taking an over the counter prenatal vitamin (you can get them at almost any drug store). Take it easy and rest while you can. Even though you do have bills to be paid at the drs office you still should schedule an appointment. Try to pay them off before you go. Like I said earlier they probably won't see you until you are 3 months along anyway, but it's better to have an appointment scheduled.
You really don't have to do anything special right now..good luck to you!!!!

If you owe to much on medical bills go and sign up with medicaid and see if you qualify for there help.. Untill you are able to get to a doctor.. Call around and see if there is any clinic around that can get you in and get you started on your prenatel care. If not then you should be able to buy some prenatal vitamins over the counter. That would be a plus to getting started with a good pregnany.. Best of Luck hope all works out well for you and your new joy...

Go ahead and schedule the appointment, and work out a payment plan with the office. I don't think they are going to deny you and your baby medical care. You can get advice on here for other people's pregnancies, but you and your baby might have special needs that you don't know about yet. If your ob/gyn does deny you treatment, go to your local women's health clinic (usually run by the county). Congratulations and take care of yourself!

You should apply to Medicaid so you dont have to pay for appt. (they cant deny a pregnant lady!)
But until you pay off the last one:
*You should be drinking about 10 glasses of water a day (the more the better)
*Go to CVS and get some Pre-natal vitamins (only about $4) this is essential!!! Your baby needs them to grow healthy, PLEASE GET THEM TODAY!!!
* I would switch all my foods to whole grains/healthy (whole milk, wheat bread, rice, fruit and veggies, plain popcorn, ceareal -honey nut cherrios-, bagles, etc...)
*Dont do exercises that pull on your abs. Stick with walking, jogging, (o harsh running, crunches or push ups, and oddly enough: no stretching while laying on your back. Anything that would put pressure on you baby in there, try not to do.)
*DONT smoke, drink (not even one sip!!!) NO DRUGS, no medication (call your doctor for info on that, or call CVS pharmacy) no herbal teas or vitamins/medicine. (Any tylenol product is safe to take. No pepto bismol. Tums are ok.) Stay away from cats and litter boxes (they eat mice and animals raw and the "fumes" from them and feces can harm your baby) Certain fish with mercury are bad. (like no shark, king maceral, swordfish, and go easy on canned tuna fish.)
Hope this helped, and remeber just to be clean, helalthy, and no need for any extra substances in your body (vitamins, meds, etc) And take a prenatal vitamin every day.

If you really don't know these things then go buy the book, What to expect when you're expecting. It is a life saver, but you can do most of the things you did before you were pregnant now. As for water, drink as much as you would normally drink or just drink when you are thursty. Good Luck.

Congratulations!
At one month you don't really need to be eating or drinking extra yet, just make sure you get some prenatal multivits with folic acid in them. Don't eat too much tuna, any soft cheese, pate or anything undercooked. Don't change cat litter trays.
Don't take aspirin but paracetamol is ok.
You can still work out but take it easy, no jumping on trampolines or anything!

Okay...drink at least 8 8oz. glasses of water every day. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and dont forget your whole grains and fiber. If you worked out prior to your pregnancy, then keep doing it but take it down a notch. Dont do any ab workouts and dont over-exert yourself
(dont get overheated). Make sure you are taking a prenatal vitamin daily, you can get them at walmart for cheaper. Congrats to you and I wish you the best of luck!

I can't really help you with the "what should I be doing part" but a lot of states have funded programs for people like you who either can't afford medical bills or cant get covereage. Call your statre or county heatlth department and see if they can help you. You need to really go to the dr for teh sake of your baby
