If i were a "citizen-of this-country" i should be worried.

Like europe, the u.s has no reasonable population control and
thus as-it-is-said, "something has to give"(meaning that there
is a backlash or counter-action).
Of course,we all know or should know that a large population equates to a busy and
usually thriving and successful economy(and this is was and is
being taught right now in schools and colleges); but of course not always.
Large environmental destruction,of for example,of
the Ice Caps,rainforests and the rest, not only could accelerate
the loss of nation power, through increased and untenable or unworkable demands from populations on their governments;
but the large environmental demands show their equivalent in
the smaller emergencies of daily life(and especially Crowded daily life), such as increased petty crime,spread-of-beauracracy
and thus increase form-filling; general apathy and homelessness
(the latter obviously more important).
i could go on,like any concerned citizen, i believe.
There are ways and means addressing and correcting the above; And these and other urgent
concerns, probably require more Law and Order than presently
exist,even here(usa). But governments CANNOT do this alone;
they do need our help,if not our imput;what i mean is, they are
fallible- just like the rest of us(both me and more importantly you).

And our history shows that,whilst every great country loses its
power and influence eventually, we still have each other,each
country has its neighbor(s);and we still have our beautiful planet.
So we should not mourn any loss-of-power too much- we all have much to do, to help, to forge peace and to clean our local
environment for current and future use.
(p.s. my apology for unintended spelling mistakes above)
life)

Unfortunately, yes, I agree. It's sad but true that in this country, most people are concerned only with themselves and not with helping others or supporting their country. We have had bad leadership for a long time, we are in a war that we can't win and that is costing us billions that we don't have, while people here are still living on the streets and going hungry. Most people only care about their cell phones, their electronic "toys", and other superficial things, while ignoring the larger issues of unemployment, global warming, violence and crime, among others. They seem not to notice these issues unless it happens to them, and then they wonder why. We are all in this together and if some of us are suffering or getting lost in the shuffle, sooner or later it will affect all of us. The whole idea of service, whether in the business world or just to help others, seems to have been lost. Now it's every man/woman for him/herself. For those of us who do care and are trying to do something to help, it is very discouraging.

OK, I'm getting down off my soapbox now. Thanks for the opportunity to vent!

Why, hello there, Mia. You have quite a few powerful questions upon your mind. Very good idea exposing your questions among real people. Very good idea, indeed.

But, to answer your question.. I think that it would be a jump back. It's kind of like the whole United States deciding to switch to a different language. It would really cause quite a bit of confusion. Plus, I know quite a few people who wouldn't be so fond of the idea itself.

Well, I hope my opinion stands. And, thanks for asking questions, it's a great way to learn.

Yes, everybody has their time in the sun. And i heard it was going to be a North American Union. Sad. That will ruin our economy,and bring about civil war. I'm glad someone asked this question. Thanks.
