I see two possible causes. Either the spring broke or it's just too junked up. If the spring broke, then you'll need to get a new spring, but if it's just too junked up, then you can remove the space bar, clean it out and pop it back on. Be careful when removing the space bar because it often doesn't pop on and off as easily as the other keys. I've found tweezers come in handy when trying to remove or replace the space bar.

Once you get the space bar off, I'd recommend using cotton swabs (Q-tips), cotton balls, toothpicks, and some rubbing alcohol to clean it. The advantage of cleaning with alcohol is that it generally won't damage electrical equipment that water could, and it evaporates quickly.

If the keyboard is relatively new, or you just don't want to mess with it yourself, return it to where you bought it or take it to Best Buy's geek squad to fix it.
