I have three children and with my first I was too scared to do anything that wasn't "by the book". With my other two I stopped using Dreft around age 4-6 months and they didn't have a reaction. As long as your baby's skin is not sensitive to most things (such as laying on your blankets or against your shirt etc...) you should be ok. Just watch for any irritation and go back to using Dreft if there is a problem.

You can stop using it when ever you want. Dreft is just perfume free which is what can cause the baby to break out in a rash {the perfume}. If you are still concerned about perfumes in detergents there are several perfume free brands. All has it, Tide has come out with it and so forth or if you want to use your regular detergent but fear the allergy issue just wash the baby's clothing seperate and do a double rinse. With my son we stopped using Baby All when he was 5 months but still wash his clothes seperate then ours. With my daughter I stopped using Dreft at 10 months. My sister never used speical detergent with her 3 kids.

I stopped using dreft when my son turned 6 or 7 months. the only reason dreft is recommended is because a babies skin can be sensitive to the perfumes in other detergents. i suggest try washing only 2 or 3 outfits in another detergent to find out if your baby will have an allergic reaction to it. then switch if they don't. one more piece of useful info that no one bothered to tell me for a few months - don't use fabric softner on babies clothes or items. i guess it washes out the fire proof stuff that's put on them.

I stopped using dreft after 2 months. It's fine as long as your child doesn't have an allergic reaction.

i used dreft til my kids were 2 - and then i still used it cuz it smelled so good - you can get other products that are dye and perfume free for children too but i think that dreft is the best one out there

Raised 7 children and never once used dreft.

Honestly...Dreft is overpriced hypoallergenic laundry detergent. It's free of all the chemicals that can cause allergic reactions. Good thing is...all of the other CHEAPER brands have their own versions of Chemical-free products, too.

Don't spend over ten dollars when you can get the same thing for six, or less.

You definitely can. Plenty of kids don't even need dreft to begin with.

I never used Dreft on my kids clothes and they are fine. They never got rashes or suffered any adverse effects of the Gain I used. I guess it would depend on how sensitive your child's skin is. Mine didn't have sensitive skin.

I stopped using it when my twins were about 4 months i figured they wouldn't get an allergic reaction being that i only used it for there clothes and crib sheets and washed my own stuff with tide they always use to lay on my chest on my bed and stuff like that and they never got a rash. So why not.
