No, there is no way to keep a dog from shedding, but there is a new brush on the market that removes all the hair before is gets on anything. You can ask your pet store, I am sure they have one.

I bought an undercoat brush (they are a metal brush in the shape of an oval). Trust me, regular combs or brushes will not get the hair out. I try to brush my husky at least 4-5 times per week. You can also invest in a good shampoo designed to cut down on excessive shedding. Huskies do shed their undercoats at least twice a year though so no matter what you will always have a lot of hair!!

You can either get a sheep shears (normal clippers wouldn't work on our huskies) and shave it.

Or a good brush we use is actually found in the horse isle and is used for horse shedding. It is a long metal piece in an oval shape with plastic handles. They are usually about 2-3 bucks. That has teeth that pull the hair right off the dog.

Lots of brushing!!! Use a rake comb to get down to the undercoat. That will comb out the loose fur. Then Get a slicker brush. You will want one with longer bristles, as his hair is very thick. Use this on his top coat.

You should brush him at least three times a week and even more when it gets hotter outside. This should help keep the shedding under control a little better.

All of this brushing will help him stay cooler in the summer months. And he should love it. Which in turn should make the two of you bond even closer.

Also you can get supplements to put in their food that will help their coat but unfortuneatly the husky always sheads I have one and she sheads six months out of the year. And lots of brushing and grooming don't shave the dog because that can cause the coat to come back fuller.

Good grooming...could always get a brush cut for the summer.
But believe it or not the more sun a husky gets the more they shed.
