I don't like being called black but I'd much rather it than the name African American, considering that I'm a light skinned black . I don't really see why we took on the name African American because a good percentage of us are not fully African. I think African American should be referred to an African who comes to America.

That nasty N word did not come from the word Negro. It came from a real word in the English language, "niggard". Which means "lacking in substance".
The Spanish term negro, was aptly applied to the Africans. As it means "dark". And can be applied to a color, or EMOTION!
The term "black", is also used to describe an emotional state.
Like "down" and "depressed".
Are you getting any of this?
Thier mood is generally down, due to the slavery their people suffered not so long ago. Synchronicity!
Just like blacks call each other Dog today. And I feel the legend
of the Dogon in Africa. That a god came from Sirius to teach them. Is based on the fact the Black race itself came from a planet near Sirius. And Sirius is also known as the Dog Star!

Beacuse it takes more of an effort in society to be an achiever or successful in your chosen field if you are from an ethnic minority. Also people have stereotypical images of black people sometimes negative and I suppose people highlight the positive aspects to emphasise the fact that they do not fit into that stereotype.

White people don't usually have resort to such because they are not usually discriminated against and the odds are not usually stacked against them just because of their colour. That's the truth whether you like it or not.

Thats because there suffered alot of rasict abuse in the past, and thery families like they olders ones have been through alot, I know they say this, because deep down , they don't mean, they just don't want to be low because already people have made them with low esteem , so in this way they bringing them sleves up, because people always look at them down, best to ignore it, I'm sure you can stand tall, and understand them. And they are some really nice black people that don't talk like this at all, also every one is different.
So don't mind ,its not important any way , they are not the only coloured people in the world, there are indians chinese, people say all the time things to each other, people are fat , slim, just get on with your life , thats important to you and do the right thing , and just repect people.

I think it has to do with the oppresion that they have felt in the past and that it is never far from their thoughts.
I hate the way they assume anyone white is racist though that really gets my goat because I'm not and would HATE anyone to think I am!
