It’s funny you put Joe Montana in the Superb class, not to knock anything against Joe cause he was probably the second best leader the offensive side of the ball has ever know. However, Joe couldn’t throw the long ball at all plus he had a team around him. Best Receiver in the game, best coach in the game if you are only putting him here because of Championships then you should have added Troy Aikman and Tom Brady to this part of the list. In addition, I think Donovan McNabb is a much better Quarterback then you have made him out to be look at what he’s done. Since he has been in the league, the Eagles have not made the playoffs twice once his first year and the second time two years ago when he got hurt. In addition, without a supporting cast to do it. I know you’re not adding the 60’s or 70’s to the list but it seems you have a bunch of Stat compilers on your list with Warren Moon, Drew Bledsoe and Dunte Culpepper. These players have all just padded their stats never really winning anything (though Bledsoe did with the AFC Championship) so if you add these players you need to add players like Kerry Collins. I also think you should have added Steve McNair to the list I’ve never seen anyone play with as much heart then he has.

Superb class - Joe Montana, Dan Marino, John Elway,
Peyton Manning, Brett Farve, Tom Brady

Excellent class - Jim Kelly, Troy Aikman, Steve Young, Warren Moon

Very good class - Donovan McNabb, Steve McNair

The case for Favre and Brady has already been made. They both have Super Bowl championships, Brady has SB MVP and Favre is a league MVP. Both are first-ballot Hall of Famers, guaranteed. They were at one time or another, the best at their position.

Warren Moon was consistent for so long (and considering he's also a Hall of Famer), I pegged him up one section.

I'm not high on Steve Young because he didn't have a lengthy starting career (not his fault he backed up Joe Montana). Aikman could've had sick stats had he not had Emmitt Smith (but would he have three rings?) and Kelly was great but has no ring (cannot be compared to Marino).

Kurt Warner had a few good years - not good enough to be considered one of the best, though.

Daunte Culpepper has had two good seasons (and that might be stretching it) and none since he lost Randy Moss. He needs to win with the Dolphins to prove he's an elite QB. Right now, he's not even close.

I only added McNair because he's a former league MVP and led his team to the Super Bowl (one yard away from a championship).

I would say the best QB out of all of those would have to be John Elway or Joe Montana. Joe had the excellent ability to hook up with his star receiver, Jerry Rice. But, you can't leave out the stupendous Joe Montana. Who has won multiple Super Bowl's and is now an all-time Hall of Famer. Another QB I would add to my top 5 would have to be Peyton Manning. I wouldn't have included him unless he got is Super Bowl Ring and well, he did. He has amazing accuracy and isn't afraid of throwing the ball away (not many QB's do that). He can also hold on to the ball when he gets or is about to be sacked. The last man I will add to my favorite for now is defiantly Brett Favre. He has incredible durability and is a very strong man. He has been playing for around 17 years now and NEVER missed a game. That's an extraordinary statistic for a man in his late 30's.

Ah, such great athletes that have done there job. So many yet to come.

I think you have Moon in the wrong category. I think he belongs in the Excellent class, espically if you want to include Farve with the way he has been the last few years. Unfair to him but I don't think he was excellent exactly anyway. Yeah Montana probably was the best. I don't like him as a person, I am not getting into that, BUT as a QB how can you not say he was the best. Although how Manning gets up there with his great WRs and Brady is only "Excellent" with the WRs he has is beyond me. Hard to be superb with out great WRs in general but I think Brady shows you can be.

IMO, Favre should go up, Aikman down(he had a superb team around him), Steve Young to something between SC and EC (had he started longer, he would have racked up major stats and been much higher on many peoples' lists --the guy DOES have the highest career QB rating), Warren Moon up, and Bledsoe down to...w/e's below VGC (I'd imagine "good")

I dont think you can just say this guy has this many rings so he is great and this guy has none so he is not as good. He said greatest QB's not most winning. The best players can be on teams that just are not good enough. Would you say Barry Sanders is not a great running back because he never got a Ring. I think Dan Marino is a better QB than Brady or Aikman who are both multi-superbowl winners and great QB's dont get me wrong. As far as current players, i think Brees should be on that list over Culpepper. And i agree that Moon should be up a class from where you have him.

Okay.. Why the heak is manning in the superb class?? He won, one super bowl so what. Tom Brady is much better than him. Brady has 3 rings, has won 3 AFC Chamionships, Has a 12-2 playoff record, and he always finds a way to win. I mean seriously, look at the recivers he has to play with. Jabar Gaffney and Reche Caldwell, two guys they basically picked up off the street and Brady still takes his team to the AFC Championship. Tom Brady makes his no name recievers look GREAT and Manning, well his recievers make him look good. Manning may have the stats but Brady has the rings and the wins.

Think about your superb class and who should really DESERVE to be in it.

'Nuff said.

I would move Brett Favre up to the excellent class. Not for the streak, but for the fact that the Packers have not had very good teams for most of this decade and he hasn't had much to work with. Defenses that couldn't stop a high school offense and an offensive line that can't run block. You have to be able to run the ball to pass good. He's in the top 3 all-time in my book.

Ok dude you clearly don't know what your talking about............any quarterback that has three superbowl rings needs to be put in the superb class....also Marino needs to be excellent.......he didn't win the big one so he is not superb.......Warren Moon needs to be bumped up a notch and McNabb and Culpepper need to be taken off the list completly. Also, where is Kosar, where is Simms, where is Esison (misspelled).
