My hero is my late Aunt Polly. I've always admired her ever since I was a little girl. She couldn't have any children and she loved kids so, she just loved me to death and I loved her too. She spoiled me rotten and I loved it. Well..when I grew up and got married and moved away , I didn't see her for years. At that time I didn't think about having a hereo.. I just armired her and her sweet, kind giving ways. She would give anyone help that needed it in a heartbeat. Her love for animals was just amazing too. She loved all animals And she had a special, gently way with them that even the wildest of animals she could tame them easily. She finally, adopted a little girl and she had heart problems. She was very caring and gave her all her love. (actually, she adopted before I got married. I'm rushing my story. Sorry.) She wasn't able to spend as much time with me like before. I got alittle jealous. She was an excellent mother and wife. Her husband was killed in a car accident in 1974. At this point in time ,she was 49 or 50. She decided to go to college that was 100 miles awa.y (,one way,) She lived out in the country and wasn't about to move she was a country girl. She did this everyday for 4 years and took care of her farm animals and . Her daughter got married but she was still sick alot and Polly was always there. I always wished that she was my Mother. I love my Mother very much, but my mother didn't play with us ( there was 5 total) or encourage me to be the best I can be.. All my Mother pushed oin me was religion. Now, there's nothing wrong with that, I love God.,she was the kind of Mother every kid wanted. Well... her daughter died too. at 32.This just devastated her, but she graduated from College with honors. She taught elementary school for 17 years. and substituted for 2 years until she was 82 years old.She had a gift of teaching the kids that everyone else had given up on. She could teach any child how to read. (even adults) She was a devout Christian too.. Well even after all of this, I never thought about her being my hero. I just didn't think about any of that at all. Well... she passed away this past Friday the 24th and when I went to her funeral I was surprised about how many people were there. She had touched so many people's life that it was incredible. She had a smile on her face too. She looked so peaceful. I know she's with God and her family. I wasn't aware of all the things she had done untill the funeral. Throughout the years we were so busy that we(mostly me because I lived far away from her) hadn't seen each other for a long time. I'd talk to her on the phone not to long ago. I cried so hard and felt so guilty for not going to see her.. I will miss her more than anyone or anything. At that moment, I new that shehad been my mentor and hero all this time and I never told her and now it's to late.So , all you people out there, tell the people that you love how much you love them before it's to late. I've been so blessed to have had her as my Aunt and to have been loved by her. and all the memories that were lefted behind in my heart forever. I know she's watching over me and hears me say I love her . So, I say this with honor and pride that she is and always will be my Hero. Go out there and touch somebody's heart and say your I Love You's today and everyday and be someones hero. Thank you for listening.

Since I am 100% responsible for what happens in my life, I must humbly say that I am my own hero. I have risen above abuse and adversity...I have been thru hell and back. I have wallowed in negativity and risen to a more positive position in my life. It takes courage and conviction to not become a victim of one's own life...and I have worked hard at doing so. I share this without ego.

Awesome man is my hero because, well.....he's just so awesome!
Other than him, I'd have to say my three year old is my hero. He is just the coolest little person I know and he keeps my inner child alive.

My hero was my Father.
We had a type of understanding that I fear will never be repeated with anyone else.
