I have a women's deBeer TrialX lacrosse stick, I'm going to be playing defense now on my high school team (as opposed to playing w/ brothers) so they want me to cut it because the butt hits my inner legs when I cradle. I'm 5ft tall. How short should I cut it like anatomy-wise? To my hip? My belly button?

im 5ft and have never cut my triax, but some people do like it shorter.
DO NOT CUT IS SO ITS AS LONG AS YOUR ARM!!! Keep it longer. If you do that you will not be able to shoor fast or throw far at all. I suggest that you cut off about 4 inches, but not much more than that. The JV coach told my friend to do what Billy S says and its really hard to use. It may help at the begining to have it shorter, but you will get into the habit of having your hands close together and when you need another stick thats longer so you can actually throw you wont keep your hand at the bottom of the stick.

Okay, I used to work in a lax store and do this all the time. what you do is stick your stick butt under your arm pit and put the stick straight out under your extended arm and mark w/ a erasable marker where your fingers touch. then measure the distance between that and the throat of the head. then, take that distance off the end of your stick w/ a hacksaw and you should be set. be advised that once you cut the shaft, its permanent, so if you are still growing, consider just sticking with it. Also, be careful cutting the triax. The strange shape, although it feels great in your hands, is tough to cut.
