I make handmade jewellery and sell it to friends and family but would like to branch out if I can. Can anyone suggest how I would start going about this?

I would like to set up my own website but I think this could work out expensive, was thinking about trying to sell stuff on ebay but there are so many people that sell the same kind of thing on there I am unsure if I'd go un-noticed.

Any help that you can offer would be great!!??!!

I do have jewellery parties at my house where friends bring friends and I sell quite a bit but I want to sell it to more people and get it out there.

It is always expensive when you first start selling but then it goes alright u know...what you can do is....make a small shop in your garage, shed, even a small room...invite people by using your own leaflets, desigh one yourself using publisher or powerpoint...then post leaflets to peoples houses...slowly slowly your business would get great, belive me...AND GOOD LUCK!

I think craft fairs are always a good idea, you can make quite a bit doing these.
Or you can put together business cards, I think Vista Print might be free or cheap anyway.
How about ebay, if you make copies of what some of the celebs wear you can use it in your description to attract customers or even create and ebay shop, you can put the details on the cards.
I would where your jewellery always so if anyone comments you can sell it and take some with you to work etc or even start body shop parties or virgin vie or something and set a table on the side.
Hope this helps and good luck

if you have a myspace page or something like that you could make a section about your jewellery and see if antone is interested then take it from there?

You will need to register your business and add vat onto your merchandise. See your tax office for advice. And enquire any local charities that may give you advice for opening your own business.

How about creating a photo albulm and distributing it to friends to put on their work coffee area.

Also try craft fair stalls or church fairs and car boot sales.

Good luck.
