i heard from one of my friend dat people in north india,,generally ignore or humiliate people who are dark complexioned???i am askin for both de sex...i mean how girls look over boys and boys look over girls who are dark complexioned????

I'm basically from north India - Himachal Pradesh. Never felt taht way. Nor did I find any Indian, humilating or ignoring dark complexioned people. You just heard it from an idiot.
While talking about preference of girls over boys and boys over girls, generally both look out for a better looking person no matter what corner they are from. Being from North India has nothing to do with it.
I personally like the Rani Mukherjee skin tone. She's not fair, but her skins beautiful...

Generally fair skinned people are preferred, but it is not the only criterion as features are equally important. A dark person with sharp features will look more attractive than a fair person with dull features. And this is true not of only north India but even in other parts of India like in Mangalore in south India you will find majority of fair skinned people and they may also have preference for fair people.

At first place ,people generally do not give importance to dark complexioned person where people are bit fair or wheatish ,but if a person is cheerful and good natured then people will forget what colour you are having . Just be confident and forget about people .WORLD WILL SEE YOU FROM YOUR OWN EYES MIND YOU.

I'm gonna have to agree with 'Plato's ghost' above...that not only guys but, also gals tend to look for skin tone for attractiveness!
I'm from south India but, living in US. I have to say that this (dark complexion) is looked down upon throughout the world!!
I personally, like a guy with dark tone, good personality and intelligence......somewhat like 'Abhishek Bacchan'!

No buddy...not all people in NOrth are fair complexioned....and thus accordingly no dark complexioned people are abused or ignored. ... as far as i believe cheerful and confident people are liked by all...so dnt be so bothered about the colour of the skin...

not only in India but all over the world. In the Philippines its very bad for the dark skinned brother or sister. They are made sport of at a very young age. Descrimination.

personally speaking i find girls with darker skin a bit more attractive than girls with whheatish
i really have no idea how other guys and gals figure this out but i think its a personal choice iirepective of state
