Well, you spent your entire life doing what you were 'supposed to' do as set out by society. Teach your children not to make the same mistake. Tell them not to go to university, get married, find a well paying stable job, buy a house, have kids ect. because they are supposed to, but if and only if they want to or feel that that is right for them. Then at least when your children are your age they won't be so miserable. That'll be giving something. You should also consider volunteering or taking up a cause. Causes put that optimistic glee right back in your eyes or you know, take up pot smoking! :)

sounds like mid-life-crisis.

Take this time now for yourself to do all the things you couldn't do when the kids were young etc.
What about a gap year? There are now GAP years for all ages not just 18's. Why not do some trips you have always only dreamt of doing.

Go on book something on the spur of the moment and you will feel fab.
i was ill a few years back and did just that...booked a trip to Lapland and it was fabulous.

Life is what you make of it. Things will only go down hill if you let it. keep busy and have set goals and you will feel purpose.

The point of life, is to live it to the fullest you possibly can. You've done a wonderful job with your children, and that is a major accomplishment. Be proud of yourself! Now, get out there and DO something. Take walks. Join bowling league. Go to the gym. Meet people. Travel to somewhere you have always wanted to go. Read books you never thought of reading before. Share your life experiences with other people. There is just so much to do in life. But the ultimate point in life, is to be happy and at peace with yourself. Not many people can accomplish that.

I just want to say 'STOP IT' you have done so much, you have brought kids into this world, it seems you have done a wonderful, feel proud, lots of people would like to be in your shoes. There is so much you can do, go on holiday, meet with friends, join a club, one day you will have grandkids, they will need you, there is so much you can do, don't ever say it gonna go downhill, tomorrow your life could change, and you would regret saying it. Smile and be happy

you are not a nobody. you were planned for a purpose. you havent found it yet though. the one thing Im gonna suggest is probably the last one you want to hear. I am a Christian. It gives me purpose, it gives me identity and I am here for a reason. I m even made in the image of the one who put me here, and Im not talking about my mum!!! I have never been dissatisfied with my faith. I have down times like all humans, but I am comfident deep inside that all happens for a purpose, and theres someone (God) who understands me even better than I understand myself. Why not go on an Alpha course or find out more? no-one is going to force you.....and you never know, you might find those answers youve always been looking for.

only you can answer that question. everything does not have to happen by the 'life script.' (get a girlfriend, finish school, get married, have kids, send them to college, retire). that's way to boring. what do you want to do? go sky diving? then do it. do you want to learn a new skill such race car driving? then do it. this is YOUR life not anyone elses. only you can set the expectations for it. nobody else. you can volunteer. you can learn to sing. take up sign language. is there anything that you want to do (versus feeling like you have to do them)? live is not all about getting married, having kids and then you die. there is much more to life than that. besides...too many people live like that. live for the expectations of their friends, family and community instead of for themselves. what do you want to do? what have you always wanted to do but did not get the chance to? well now is your chance.

to enjoy life, go out and see the world outside. Enjoy whats given to you, and enjoy giving back.

When your older, you should be able to remember your life well, so that you can live it a second time.

Enjoy new things, endless opportunities are possible, cooking classes, photography, travelling, learning a new language. Keep your brain alive and you shall remain alive.
