vaseline works as well as olive oil and seems like it would be less likely to drip all over. Also, why put a food oil on yourself when there's baby oil??

Massage olive oil into your skin after a shower or bath while your skin is still wet. Then pat dry with a towel. Putting the oil on when your skin is still wet helps lock in the moisture. Also, if you have some, you could add a couple drops of lavender essential oil to the olive oil for a very relaxing, luxurious moisturizer. Also, it is good to dry brush your body before a shower to help slough off the dead skin cells.

as you read earlier "vaseline" is a tried and true remedy for dry / chapped hide...especially when the affected area can be covered with a container of some sort (eg.) when a heel is dry / cracking
to slather it in vaseline and then coverit in a thick sock and sleep that way for a night will do wonders...if "vaseline" is not available try old fashioned hog-lard this may sound horrid but it truly natural and you get it easily from most grocery stores some may call it "crisco" but it's simple form is still hog-lard

Extra virgin olive oil (sweet oil, the old folks used to call it) is wonderful for everything from cooking to curing dry skin to using in the ear for earache. Just get the inexpensive brand to use, since taste won't have any bearing on your choice.

Externally, I've used Egyptian Magic & it is wonderful!!! (http://www.egyptianmagic.com/)
Also, natural oils like cocoa butter or shea butter are very good.
Internally, you should increase your intake of essential fatty acids (Omega-3 & Omega-6) from sources like flaxseed oil or fish oil & also increase the amount of water that you drink.
