Ok..we all know that the government is hell bent on bringing in this new stealth tax.

Apart from the tourist industry going down the pan, can anyone think of any other companies or industries that will suffer a similar fate..?
Has anyone heard anything of a compensation package for the thousands that will be slung out of work.?
The government, who has thought this all through to the logical conclusion, with their usual diligence, has not mentioned it as far as I am aware.

Ok people..lets have some sense here.
The government has not said that they will do away with Road Tax as it stands today.
They have not said that they will reduce fuel duty.
The average mileage per year, for a private motorist, works out to around 10,000 miles...multiply that by just 20 pence a mile.
Yep..Road price fixing is such a wonderful idea.

I don't think the idea was thought out at all - the road pricing will put up prices on everything as companies have to pass on the extra costs to the consumer. What irritates me is that members of parliament wont be paying the road pricing.

The Road tolling need not be a stealth tax. I'm all for it if it replaces the useless road tax. This will actually help all the industries. It will only mean the redundancies of the people in Swansea working on road tax. after all most countries in the world use road tolling already, as usual the UK is about 50 years behind.

I just don't see how it is going to stop the majority of motorists continuing to use thier cars. All business drivers will just claim the charges back on expenses....most tourists and part time drivers will end up using the minor roads and the problem will just move....but what a great way for the government to make more money and claim it's good for the environment...class

It will increase the cost of everything and make it uneconomic to go to work.

Strangling the economy is not sensible. Vote Labour out!
