Before 1996, there were no man of the series cup. The captains of the winning team got the cup so it's Imran Khan of Pakistan. Talking about Martin Crowe, he played well throughout the WC 1992, but he didn't recieve any cup as Pakistan won it.

Despite what previous answers have said, there was indeed a "man of series", under the title of 'Player of the Tournament". The first few answers are spot on, it was indeed Martin Crowe of New Zealand who won this prize, as he was far and away the leading batsman for the tournament. He was presented with this prize prior to the start of the NZ - Pakistan semi final, which NZ ultimately lost, despite Crowe scoring 91.

He did not get a trophy for it - I believe his prize was a new car (as that was the fashinable prize to give in that era!)

The man of the series was Martin David Crowe, captain of New Zealand, who took his team to the semifinal. Scored a century and four fifties aggregating 456 runs. He is also a cousin of actor Russell Crowe!
