The last trimester can be rough on the body! At this point the baby is rapidly growing, and your organs are being squished because of it. Getting out of breath happens very quickly now. And the trouble sleeping at night due to bathroom trips, baby kicking, and discomfort are no help! At this point in pregnancy the best thing you can do is to just try to take it easy. Rest whenever you can, and if possible try to take a nap during the day. The nap may help you feel less exhausted, especially after the lack of sleep at night. If you really do need to get stuff done, pace yourself and don't rush. Do one or two things, and then take a rest before you move on to your next activity. Use this time to get sitting activities done - put photos in an album, read a book you've been meaning to, etc. And be sure to keep your energy up by having small healthy snacks throughout the day and drink plenty of water. Soon enough you will be on maternity leave, so it will be much easier to rest during the day :)

It's really quite normal for all these things to be happening to you and it probably is more intense for you because it is your first baby and your bodies first time going through this, My advice would be to rest as much as possible go to bed earlier, stay home on your days off, ask someone to come and help you out, drink lots of water dehydration can cause some of these symptoms, make sure you are eating enough and of the right foods, junk food can make you feel this way to, avoid foods with MSG in them, sleeping through the night does get harder in the end so sleep as much as you can in the day time, try some stretching exercises, and just remember it is almost over and you will reap the rewards of all this misery Good Luck

You poor thing! I am the same as you (30+2) and I feel exactly the same - I am in bed by 9 every evening and then I can't sleep without waking up!! My hips ache, my back aches and my ribs are really sore as the baby likes to go up in my rib cage when I sit at my desk - its not fun!
I finish work on the 13th April and I really wish I had planned to leave sooner as it is hard now and I only do a desk job LOL.
I have been told that we will feel a little better in a few weeks as the baby will drop down and releive the pressure on our lungs etc so hang in there, I'm thinking of you. Take it easy and good luck with your baby.

Hi!
I'm 34 weeks and i feel like there's no way this baby will be in until April! My body feels exhausted at times but what i find that helps me is exercise. Even if it's just cleaning my house and walking the stairs. Also stretching will help with body pains and help you sleep better. Body pillows are heaven and really the only way i get any sleep. The father along you get the harder it gets to sleep and get around. Drinking lots of water and making sure to take my vitamins also is a big help.
Putting pillows b/ your legs will help with pressure.

I hear you!! I am 27 weeks and 2 days and I am already feeling like this... I am not even that big... but I think the baby is pressing on everything. Every morning I wake up, I am in pain... I am tired and my energy level is down.. :( I find walking on the treadmill helps. Try to do something like that....... just get as much rest as you can and it will be here before you know it.... I understand how you feel!!

Sorry to tell you but what your describing is normal during late pregnancy. I got to a point where I couldnt even eat without taking zantac and I was in so much pain my doctor gave me Tylonel 3 with codeine. I on average slept roughly 4 hours a night and took small naps during the day as often as possible.

what youre feeling is normal. but pretty soon when your baby "drops" you'll be able to breathe again. as for the sleeping, they say thats just getting you used to what it will be like with baby here. we're all going through the same stuff, and its normal not to feel like you cant cope. just take it easy and maybe leave work a week early if you feel like you cant work anymore... but yes, this is all very normal feelings and we all get them at some point or another... Good luck and God bless.

can you take a week of sick leave before your maternity leave??
or even a few days?
take off Friday of this week and Monday as sick days to shorten your work week
try to sneak in a nap during the day
do some deep breathing
get help from friends or relatives to help clean of cook a few meals that you can reheat later
get a pedicure
ask someone for a back rub
do you have a partner?? can they help?
try to relax as much as possable and talk to your doctor

unfortunetly you are nearing the end, and this is how it feels. not much you can do but take it easy. for sleep you should ask your dr for something like ambien. or you can take tylenole pm a few times, that really helped me and the dr said it was ok to take once in a while. not enough sleep can make pregnancy harder. also i always found it helpful to take a nap

overwhelming tiredness is natural in the last trimester, mention it to your doc though, maybe your iron levels are low which would exacerbate the problem, make sure you get plentyof gentle exercise and rest, good quality rest and take things as easy as you can, you are going to need all your energy in a few weeks time!
