Yasmin is available in the UK and it is free because it is a contraceptive (it's expensive for the doctors, not you). I was taking that when I lived in England. I moved to Canada a couple of years ago and there is a new version called Yaz. The original Yasmin is still available and will be for the foreseeable future; here and the UK.
I find that it is the best one out of all the ones I have tried in the past, eg. Mercilon, Marvelon etc. My skin (which I had problems with before I started the pill) is usually clear of spots and I have never put on any weight. I recommended it to a friend in the UK and she uses it now.

I'm on Yasmin and where I am it's comming off of the market, the new form of yasmin is called Yaz, it gives you a four day at the most period but seems to be told that it works better than yasmin. I onl have 1 pack of yasmin left(and yes it cured my teen acne), then I'm switching to yaz. Reason I got on it was to regulate my period, and clear acne, plus I was sexually active, and still am with the same boy.

Well, I live in the United States but I took Yasmin for a couple of years. I did notice my skin started breaking out after going off of it! If I were you, I would NOT take b.c. strictly for your skin! Or are you taking it for protection as well? There are so many great topical product now. Even non prescription meds. like the Proactiv System are wonderful. There is also a brand new b.c. called "YAZ" and I'm not sure if it's avail. in Europe or not.

I actually lost weight on Yaz...and I loved it. It does clear up your acne, and it will come back when you stop taking the pill (mine did) but it will do that anyway no matter what pill you take. You are changing your body chemistry when you go on and come off the pill so as your body readjusts, it will happen.
Just so you know, when you get pregnant, you're acne will get worse...you'll feel like your 12 again. :)

your acne should not be a problem when you switch as all pills have basically the same type of hormones which help with acne but I think you should talk to your dr about which one would be better for your blood pressure. I don't know about the cost--I am in the U.S. and we have to pay for all of our medications here so I can't help with that question.
