The best way to get rid of static electricity in your house is buy a humidifyer the air gets charged electrically when there is too much dry air in your house and it also depends especially for women what kind of clothes they wear there isnt much you can do about your car because it has more to do with what kind of fabrics you wear and how much they rub on the car seats ect when you enter and exit your car the best thing you can do there is touch somthing metal before you move like open the door and touch the outside then get up it will keep you from getting shocked and changing the types of clothing you waer can help too another thing that helps is shaking your hands before you touch somthing it gets rid of the electrical build up as well bes of luck

I dont know about your house...try rubbing stuff down with a bounce sheet. the car though you can actually purchase an attachment for that. It drags on the ground so the static can be released,...just like grounding anything else for that purpose.

Hi UK builder here, I hire out DH's and I have never heard of them getting rid of static, also I worked for Munters who invented the de-humidifier, I think the unit is an ioniser.

I think you need humidity in your home. Dry air seems to increase static electricity. Also, use "Static Guard" in car and carpets.

P.S. Freezer burn is caused by air getting to your food in your freezer. Wrap tightly, expel as much air as possible. Food savers work well.

I agree-definitely buy a humidifier! Well, I guess that won't work for the car, though. I have the same problem with getting in and out of my car-it can be painful!
