No, but like Lt Dan, I have surprised a bunch of kids who were calling 911 from a payphone. Our dispatchers had received about 20 calls from the payphone in an apartment complex. When I arrive the payphone was near the pool, and kids were everywhere. I knew I would never be able o find the kids responsible so I thought real fast for a plan, and pulled my fingerprint kit out real fast.
I threw black graphite powder all over that payphone while the kids started gathering around. When they asked what I was doing I explained to them that some kids were calling 911 for fun which is a crime, and that I was dusting for fingerprints to catch the kids doing it. All of a sudden the kids stopped smiling.
One kid smarted up and explained that they were all juveniles and that their fingerprints were not on file. Thinking fast I asked him if Mom and Dad had a copy of his hand and footprints in his baby book. H advised that they did, and I explained that the Doctors take those when your born. They give a copy to your Mom and Dad, and another Copy to the FBI so that the fingerprints will be on file. He actually turned ghost white.
I left the area, and 911 received no more prank calls, and if the did, the offender will now have black graphite powder all over him.

Nope, but I have sure surprised a bunch of kids who didn't wise up to this thing called 911 which tells us where they call from. You can actually watch the blood drain from their face when they answer the door and their little bottoms tighten up in fear...
It's almost hard to keep a straight face when you ask to talk with their Mom or Dad.. especially when Junior was grounded from the phone for something they did at school earlier...
Monthly phone bill $40.00
Cordless phone $35.00
Having the cops get your butt in major trouble... PRICELESS

Good Lord no!!! Don't you know you can be arrested?
Making a prank call can also potentially cause risk to others, much like yelling out FIRE in a crowded room, or calling in a false fire alarm.
In all too many instances, prank calls cause harm to others because the police or fire department sent a team to investigate that was needed elsewhere.

nope, but i did prank call a phone sex or whatever hotline, when i was maybe like 15 with friends. needless to say we thought it would be great craic (irish for fun), however when the person came on the phone, we didn't really have anything to say. another great plan, that turned out to be not that great.
