i got to read about steven gerrard's autobiography. in my own opion, its not the right time for him to write a book about himself when he has not even got close to the peak of his career. autos are apropriate when someone looks back at his life that has fairly come to a certain peak, not life thats still unfolding. i believe the is nothing in that book that will entrique me coz, i can almost remenber and find all his interviews which will give me 95% of the story of his life if i need to know anything about him. Its just my feeling!

I couldn,t agree more, people writing their autobiographies in their 20.s and 30,s is just ridiculous, they haven,t really lived to fully tell their life story.
Personally I think it,s just another crazy trend, anyone who seems to be remotely famous is now writing their autobiography.
I say leave to people in their later years who really do have a story to tell!

I think they all need to live a little first and at least get to an age were they can look back on their life's and careers, yes ok they have seen fame and fortune, but that's not enough to say you have lived your life and had all the experiences that life throws at you, most of these footie stars are still kids really and haven't even seen what life has to offer them properly, fresh news in books isn't what we want really, stories are printed in the newspapers each day about them as it is, I reckon getting to at least 50 to write an autobiography would be more appropriate.

Didn't work out too well for Ashley Cole and Rio Frdinand - copies of the autobiographies have sold very slowly.
Don't understand why they do it - it's not as if they are desperate for the money! I think the end of their footballing career is when they should publish their stories but only if they acheived something special or have an interesting story to tell (not just that they married a girl band member)

Well it got Japp Stam a ticket to Italy from Man U. Makes you think it was a cynical (and successful) attempt to get around contract clauses.
