You're going to think this is a joke but it was invented by a man actually named Archibald Street Sweeper. He named the invention after himself (obviously.)

In the early 1980s, Hilton Walker invented the original DAO-12 (or Street Sweeper), first in Rhodesia, than in South Africa.
