You question is not really clear. If you are looking for the area of a rectangular area, it is length times width. A square is the same. If you have an odd shaped area, try dividing the area into as many small rectangles as possible, and then find the area of each one and add them to find the total area of the object.

Don't forget to convert all of your units to the same if you are multiplying 6cm and 20mm, make to to do: 6cmX2.0cm=12cm^2
