My hubby and I are planning a trip to Switzerland in March. We will be in Zurich on his b'day. I want to give him a surprise by taking him to a nice romantic restaurant. I have checked many websites but it is difficult to decide which one. I would like the restaurant to get a cake and may b do up the table a lil bit. Not v expensive though. Swiss, german, french, any cuisine is fine. Also, it would b great to get someone's personal review of a rest. specially if u have been there and had a gud exp. I would also like to know of the bad places to steer clear of them!! Can I get contact details like tel no, website, email etc? A general idea of the prices would be gud too. thanku!!!

The most special restaurant would be the "Uto Kulm" on top of the town's highest hill "Uetliberg" - but I think it could be rather expensive. The next two links lead to fairly expensive restaurants as well.

The Italian place "Latini" near the main railway station is fairly reasonable (in Zurich relations) - and the "Crazy Cow" is an entirely Swiss place with traditional Swiss food - it's more a fun place for tourists and young people, but very reasonable (in Zurich relations).

The "Latini" has no homepage - address is "Limmatstr. 5" and phone is +41 44 273 37 38 (from the US it's 01141 44 ..., and from Europe it's 0041 44 ... to Zurich)

This is a website of travellers' reviews for anything and everything all over the world. l have used it for just about all my trips in the past 5 years and have great experiences.

Hopefully there's some good restaurant info. I haven't been to Zurich in years but everywhere I ate was nice. I was living in Geneva last year, and the dollar isn't doing too well so restaurants will still be a bit pricey compared to what you may be used to.

For example, here one of the listings:
