Flu is really debilitating and takes a long time to get over! However, for a start, lay off the dairy foods like milk and cheese - they actually contribute to the mucus!! Eat sensible but light nourishing foods - plenty of fruit and veg and a good amount of meat, but lay off wheat products like bread and biscuits which slow down your recovery - they're hard on the liver! No alcohol as well - that really does make a difference.
The best advice is to take it easy and rest, plenty of liquids, don't exhaust yourself. Flu really beats up the body badly, and it can take three weeks to get back to normal, so don't rush it.
By the way, don't get bored. We're here on Yahoo Answers to keep you entertained ......
get well soon

you need to rest, you sound so stressed up.
drink plenty of water. water therapy is the best.
if you can't breath when you lay down, put some more pillows to elevate you head.
take vitamin C and fruits enriched with this.
take those boring stuff away from ur head, they just get things worse. get a copy of your favorite tv series and watch reruns. surf the net, the whole world is around you!

Drink tea, to sleep then prop yourself up on a lot of pillows so you are upright for your nose, and put vicks on your chest and nose. Lots of liquids even if it means popcycles. Your body is trying to fight off this flu, that is why the fever. Feel better.

Drink plenty of fluids.take extra vitamin c and zinc to boost immune system and fight the infection.Echinacea is a herb used in the form of a tincture, tablet or even a tea. This has been used for centuries and is fantastic for fighting infections and boosting your immune system.I always take it at the first sign of feeling unwell, and it seems to stop viruses before they take hold.good luck.
