uninstall norton first from add/remove panel in control panel. after that you can download and install any of the free antivirus programs.

Yes, you will have to remove Norton before installing any other anti-virus. Follow Symantec's online uninstallation (it's there in their website) procedure to remove Norton, and then get a good free anti-virus like AOL Active Virus Shield, Avast or AVG. All the three are good, so you can go for any one safely. The download links to these anti-virus software can be found here:

I say, You should use Kaspersky, of course you will have to update it some times. I had Norton and havent detect any virus in my computer. But when i changed thi anti virus, Kaspersky found 122 viruses. Or you may try Bit Defender.

Try AVG antivirus. You should delete the norton first before installing it. You double clic the norton antivirus icon on your pc then options should come out follow these through.

Avast, AVG, and BitDefender are all free. You need to uninstall Norton first, it can be done through Add/remove Programs in your control panel, or click on Start->Programs->Norton->uninstall

If you uninstall and reinstall Norton, I think it starts a new subsciption date (or using restore). But if you don't have 2007 version, best to get it before something bad gets in your computer, like mine did.

Norton is ...well crap...one of the best is Eset Nod 32, you can also give Kaspersky a shot

go to yahoo search to find a free antivirus.
download it but don't install.
get off line.
uninstall norton's.
install new antivirus.
find out where the update button is located.
get online and update.
