the range of a projectile can be maximum if the angle of projection is 45 degrees.
the range of prjectile can be calculated from the formula
( u^2 sin 2angle)/g
where u is the velo9city of projection g is gravity and angle is the angle of projection.
For range to be maximised the numerator has to be maximum
and for a given velocity range can be maximised if
sin 2angle is maximum which is possible for
2 angle =90 degrees
hence angle =45degrees
