The ability to adopt or not adopt should not be based on the sexual orientation of the couple or individual seeking to provide a child with a loving home. All people willing to adopt a child should be rated on the same set of criteria.

not stictly true.

in the UK a gay man can adopt, however if he is in a relationship both men can adopt a child but as the law stands they can not adopt as a couple hence they can not adopt the same child. (idiotic I know)

However as this throws up the obvious question of what would happen to the child if the man which did adopt him/her dies (custody of the child does not pass to the partner) the law may soon (thank goodness) be changed.

I don't care who adopts the kid - and the law here in the UK says the same - as long as they pass the stringent checks, applied to all couples, to assure the child's welfare.

I really don't know, but the same thing applies to dancing. 2 women dance together and its supposedly hot but 2 guys dance together is disgusting. Personally 2 guys dancing together is HOT. 2 women dancing together is sad.
