The greatest things about babies are............ they will not overeat. They stop eating when they are full. So feed him as much as he wants. I guess I would make an 8 oz bottle and let him decide. He is probably getting ready for Cereal. At this age babies aren't always happy with just formula or breastmilk.

Hi my son is 5 1/2 months old and eats 2 stage 1 jars of food a day 1/4 c cereal a day and 32 oz of formula also. There are days he eats more food but consistently drinks 32 oz a day. Every baby is different but u should already be giving urs cereal. I found that buying baby spoons and letting him get used to them really helped with feeding. Also when u eat does ur baby look at u with interest or open there mouth? If so ready for cereal. Start with a small amount and if u need to make more thats good but let ur baby decide how much. Good luck

I know when my baby was 6 months old, they had a chart on the back of the formula container telling me how much to give to my baby, but at six months, your child should also be starting on solids so its probably best to have a chat with your doctor about how much formula your child needs so they can take into account your childs health and weight.

Multiply your baby's weight times 2.5 ounces
If your baby isn't eating any solids (as he shouldn't before 4 to 6 months of age), the general rule of thumb is to offer him 2.5 ounces of formula per pound of body weight each day. So if your baby weighs 6 pounds, you'll give him about 15 ounces of formula in a 24-hour period. If he weighs 10 pounds, he should drink 25 ounces in a 24-hour period.
This is from babycenter.com (http://www.babycenter.com/refcap/baby/formulafeed/9136.html)
Hope this helps

Hello! pinahkala.
Each baby is different there is no cookie cutter mould. .
You know your baby better than anyone if you think that he needs more give it to him.
Also don't forget to give water sometimes baby keeps crying, mum doesn't know why and it is possible he is thirsty for water.
Milk is food it will not quench the thirst.
Especially in hot weather.
Take care!
