We live in a society of convenience where it is not necessary to get the maximum utility out of everything. We accept that our food and many of the things we use come prepackaged and protected in containers that just become garbage. Add to that the fact that no matter how much we throw away, the garbage man comes and takes it away and we don't have to think about it again. It's probably too late for us to revert to a hunter/gatherer society where we utilize as much as we can and wast nothing.

coz we all buy stuff or use stuff which produces waste which must be got rid of. a lot fo it is recyclable but some just isnt so it has to be disposed of. there are lots of things that can be done to reduce the waste by not producing it in the first place eg not buy things with so much packaging, buy food and use it within its date and only buy what u need

I recycle, whatever i can. Plastic bags, pain in the a*se though.
