It's good you want to wear what you like. All fashion icons at one point or the other would have received strange "what are you wearing?" kinda looks from their peers and people around them. I don't think that stopped them. As long as you feel good and comfortable, go for it. Saree is something that's suitable for everybody. Maybe for some people it looks great on them but trust me, it looks good on everybody. Infact, for people who are pear shaped , it's even more better as it conveniently hides those extras without overdoing it. Salwar kameez is better as a daily wear. It's almost like wearing jeans and tops but it's just more colorful , elegant and feminine. Again salwar kameez also suits most of the women and I am sure you are one of them.

It really sounds good to know that u have an interest in wearing Indian clothes. I guess lot of them do appreciate Indian clothing but just don't wear them. Sarees suit for any kind of figure and they look good on most of the women. So, u need not worry abt anything physical and can go ahead to wear them. There are also good sites which supply Indian sarees online from were u can buy them along with matching blouse as well as petticoat for the saree.

Some want to be trendy or stylish so they wear Sarees below their hips. Some wear when they are pregnant so not to give pressure on the stomach. Some wear according to their husbands wish and some wear to show off.

it shows the beauty and a wonderful figure of the indian lady. also they feel comfortable if they wear saree below hip or it feels so sophocating. one who wears knows the troubleof wearing it for long.
