We don't have the troops to take over Iran, so no to that. Iran doesn't have a weapon system to reach the US , so that won't happen either. And I don't think Iran is the real problem. Let me explain.
Iran does not have enough native Uranium to produce a bomb. Nor did they have the expertise to properly refine it. So these things have been provided for them.
This is a reflection of proxy warfare and putting economic gain ahead of world security. Without the aid of Russia, France, Germany and other nations the Iranians are throwing rocks while riding camels.
Until *all* nations realize that an attack against another sovereign nation is an attack against all this situation is unlikely to change. If Iran is stoped in their nuclear warfare efforts, some other nation, maybe Syria, maybe some other nation, will rise up with the aid of benefactors.
I really have a hard time with the Russian government in this whole mess. Can't they read a map? Although it will be many years before Iran has a delivery system capable of stiking the US, they have such system capability now to strike Russia.

Am I truly the only person optimistic, hopeful and foolish enough to believe that the current Congress will recognize the fact that Iran isn't an imminent threat, that attacking them now only decreases our already lowered position in the world's affection (a world we lack the allies to take on politically or militarily), and that we don't even have the military numbers to keep Iraq from erupting into a civil war thus, attacking Iran is not only a bad idea but flat out stupid.
I swear, what happened to politicians that waited? If Iran does in fact create nukes then they've violated several international treaties and are a threat to more countries than just the US and Israel. Let those countries deal with them. We shouldn't have to do everything and we shouldn't keep pretending that we can. I won't be surprised if the fall of the US is related directly to our inability to ask for help.

"This is all Bush?!" Hah! This policy is straight out of the Iraq study group. If we had used diplomacy earlier (even with Saddam) we wouldn't be in this mess.
Talk is cheap. Bombs cost billions.

Hopefully, the U.S. will bomb Iran, tell them to create another government, and if they bring back the same crap, Bomb them again. If they bring back the same government, Bomb Tehran into the ground again. Without placing a boot on the ground.
