You consider only the vertical components of velocity and gravitational force to determine the time of flight
y=y0+vy t +1/2 gt^2 =0
then plug it in horizontal equation x=x0 +vx t

If the ball is simply 'dropped' it will strike the floor directly under the point from which it was released. Is that what you're asking?
