Why are women oppressed in Islamic countries?

sorry sir.....we are not oppressed we are very secure and happy with our islamic rules and regulations...islam has given all the men and women equal rights islam has given the order to every gender to educate even if u need to migrate to other countries for this purpose ....but islam has provided us the best way to live in the society ....u could see in the world the socities that are calling themselves civilized arehaving problems regarding marriage , family structure ,there are so many places where women is not treated with respect ,their also possess depression in family backgrounds , but in our islam the most respected creature is women ,that is the women who ties families with love effection and feelings....we the women of islamic world are not in any sence behind the others but we reach our destinations being more confident as we have the book of ALLAH the HOLY QURAN at every step to give us guidence .....we are not rigid ,not conservative we are v happy for being the umah of PROPHET MOHAMMAD (P.B.U.H) and we love to follow his teachings.......come to our side and see the women are working in every field with men this is a common misconception and a propoganda which making the far away countries feel that we are rigid no we are not we are pilots,engineers,doctors,teachers,aeronotical specialists we are having 2 kind of education of this world and the world beyond this world,we are having satisfaction we dont need to be sexual animals we are having all the satisfaction as we feel we are having great limits that are great enough to design a community ....we are opressed we are practical we need success in this world and reward after this world .......before saying anythin about islamic culture i challenge raed the HOLY QURAN in your language u would found every answer of ur question and every solution of ur problem,,,,have a nice day and do see http://www.islamicresearchfoundation.com....regadrs...from a girl of ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN

I dont know which country u can tell today where women r not oppressed.Women r oppressed in all countries ,whether they r muslim or not.
As far as ISLAM is concerned Women r given equal rights in ISLAM.


In a truely Islamic society women have the following rights in Islam:
1. The right and duty to obtain education.

2. The right to have their own independent property.

3. The right to work to earn money if they need it or want it.

4. Equality of reward for equal deeds.

5. The right to express their opinion and be heard.

6. The right to provisions from the husband for all her needs and more.

7. The right to negotiate marriage terms of her choice.

8. The right to obtain divorce from her husband, even on the grounds that she simply can't stand him. (pls note that God deeply frowns upon divorce as a solution unless there is hardly any other alternative but it does not mean that men have more right to divorce their wives than women do.)

9. The right to keep all her own money (she is not responsible to maintain any relations).

10. The right to get sexual satisfaction from her husband.

11. custody of their children after divorce.

12. to refuse any marriage that does not please them

It is all about control and the fact that Mohammed the Prophet thought that the man was the key to making women subservient to insure order in society. With woman in this role they have become hidden, secret and oppressed, this is the way men like it, in a North American society look at the problems that we have because women are allowed to be almost equal to men. Divorce, scandals involving women, women working putting men out of jobs, women in positions of power allowing other women to hold positions of authority, women poliiticians, voting, and dstorting men's attention to sexual persuasion, through pornographic websites, magazines, books, movies, even music as well as strip clubs and prostitution. In Islamic countries all of this doesn't occur because it is banned by the religious groups that have total control over women. Keeping women in their place provides the Islamic countries with controls that make them superior in their minds to us. This is also why we are considered infildels and are hated by Islam. We are weak, too open to satanic views and therefore should be destroyed as enemies of Islam and the Prophet Mohammed.

Islamic countries don't kind of oppress women but they respect their feminism.In our country the moment women started exposing things like raping started.See it in a way that they want to protect women.

In the early stages of.civilasation men were moving , from ie leaving homes for hunting and such related works. and thye were returning home after many days. The custom soon came into force that un guarded women should not come out of houses in absence of men , and if ,there is a necessity , they must come with mask. So thgat the evil eye of others many not fall on her who may develop evil designs.
The arrangement made by the elders has soon yeilded good result. As, it was readily acceptable in male dominated society, it became a tradition , and it was practiced by one all.
However
Its entry into.epics is debatable.. It is written with, some selfish ends by translators etc, who r men.A beautiful woman is a trouble , till this day, as she is covetous. She is desired by many males, and there will be competition. In those era, strong always yeiled power, and they use to rob, the weak from their possession. A beautiful wife is both an asset and liability. Hence the arrangement.
It is a logical conclusion as it appears sound in argument.

When Muslim rulers ruled many parts of Asian countries they forcibly converted other people(women) to Islam and to hide their sin they started the practise of oppression. They could not stop that habit and even now it is continued.

in islamic countries the woman respect their body so they keep cover up un like girls that is not from a islamic..if u ask me i think it is a good idea for the islamic countries..cause then u wont have 13 year olds having baby when they still a baby or having girl walk around on street with their *** and stomach showing..

They talk many thing about the freedom of their women. But when it comes to the life it is different. Only in their country they are using pardhas and veils, when coming out from that country they are using jeans and T-shirts. I have seen it myself girls changing their dress at airport. You cannot call it a culture.
