I define "self-esteem" as a feeling of pride in oneself, and a sense of ones own dignity or worth*
Someone with a low self-esteem would be described as having a deflated self-image or not liking there-self. Their views are unrealistic and demeaning. Those with low self-esteem tend to be very hard on themselves and usually have pessimistic views of life.
A high self-esteem is not always a bad thing,It can be healthy to have a high sense of self-worth. Sometimes though, if it's too high it can get out of hand and turn into egotism. They can then view themselves unrealistically and be describe as conceited.

Self-esteem is simply one's own opinion of oneself, which is continually subject to many influencing factors.
Of course, self-esteem could be both negative and positive, or like most of us, somewhere in between.

Self-Esteem is another term for Self-Respect.
If you like what you are doing for yourself, as well as others, than you are respecting your moves in life.
Sometimes I go by what I want in life and enjoy doing in life and say, "f*** the rest". If they don't like it "t***h s**t". But try not to become overly self-centered, because that can get you in a lot of trouble sometimes.

I would define self esteem as your feelings about yourself, how you think you look and behave to others, If your life has had many knocks and rejection, you can feel worthless. Compliments and achievements build it up so you feel good again
